Welcome, I’m Angelica, LCSW, PEL.

I provide culturally responsive therapy supporting trauma recovery, identity development, and emotional well-being across life transitions.

About Me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy for adolescents and adults in Illinois. I believe therapy works best when people feel genuinely seen, respected, and supported—not analyzed or rushed to change.

I’m especially drawn to working with individuals navigating identity, life transitions, and the emotional impact of trauma, often within the context of family expectations, culture, and community. Many of the people I work with are balancing multiple roles while trying to better understand their own needs, boundaries, and sense of self.

As a bilingual Filipina therapist and daughter of immigrants, I bring an understanding of how culture, intergenerational experiences, and family dynamics can shape emotional well-being. I approach therapy through a multicultural lens, with cultural humility and care, recognizing that each person’s relationship to their identity is unique and evolving.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and thoughtful. In our work together, I aim to create a space that feels supportive and steady, while also offering gentle reflection and structure when helpful. I see therapy as a collaborative process—one where your strengths, values, and lived experiences guide the work.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I started this work because I know what it’s like not being able to find a therapist who shared my cultural identity and experiences. My own past experience with a therapist who was kind but didn’t understand my background as an Asian woman left me feeling misunderstood and unheard. I want to ensure others don’t have to feel that way.

Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of my work, I find grounding through journaling, spending time in nature, and traveling with my family. As a bilingual, Catholic, and spiritual person, I draw inspiration from faith, meaningful connection, and music, especially Filipino pop. I am an animal lover, a devoted dog person, a parent, and an affirming ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. My work is guided by compassion, cultural humility, and a deep respect for diversity, belonging, and each person’s lived experience.

I currently provide therapy services through Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting, offering in-person sessions in Chicago and telehealth throughout Illinois.
